Structured triglycerides

Organic-certified, structured triglycerides - Cosmetics

The demand for organic cosmetic products is increasing. Alternatives to palm oil are being sought.

Sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions

We develop lipid components on a natural basis and offer innovative and environmentally friendly solutions for the cosmetics industry. The structuring of triglycerides can thus be a sustainable alternative to conventional, plant-based ingredients such as palm oil. However, to fulfill certain organic standards, this requires process-related adjustments. Cocoa butter from organic cultivation has very good properties as a basic substance and is accepted by consumers. Cocoa butter is restructured using various process steps within a process sequence in order to achieve higher melting points and therefore a suitable consistency for creams.

Fulfilling organic criteria

The certified organic process we have developed successfully results in products with the desired crystal profile and simplifies their use in cosmetic formulations. Partial hydrogenation of the triglycerides with the aim of achieving suitable melting points is not always possible according to the organic criteria of the respective label. This is why native vegetable oils have so far mostly been ruled out for organic cosmetic products such as lip balms or body butter. A lot of research is still needed here to develop organic-compliant processes and perhaps do away with tropical fats altogether. We are working on it.

The importance of organic-certified, triglycerides in the cosmetics industry is increasing and we have expanded our production capacities accordingly. This enables us to meet the industry's requirements at a time when sustainability and ecological responsibility are becoming increasingly important.
